Ethics

Driving up the coast on their way to a romantic honeymoon weekend in San Francisco, George and Janey Gray see an Audi station wagon soar off the two hundred foot cliffs and crash into the ocean below.  The occupants were certainly killed.  After completing a report for the Highway Patrol, they continue on their way, sobered by the fragility of existence as their lives together are just getting started.

Pursuing his first significant assignment as a New York Times reporter a few days later, George learns that the successful Silicon Valley technologist he was to interview was in the fated Audi.  Why would Michael James, inventor of a world-changing technology commit suicide immediately after securing fame and fortune for himself and his employees?

George can’t help but feel he was destined to find out.  Like the reporter in Citizen Kane, George delves into Michael James’ past and the pasts of the people closest to the technologist.  What he finds is shocking, but will he ever find Rosebud?
